OPR is seeking a driven and personable Assistant Block Manager to join our client’s expanding team in the Bournemouth area. This is an excellent opportunity for someone local to Bournemouth, Poole, or Christchurch who is looking to take their first step into block management or bring transferable skills from a lettings or property admin background. The business has an excellent reputation and is known for offering strong support, training, and long-term career development within a friendly and professional environment.

This is an office-based role, ideal for someone eager to learn and grow in a structured setting.

Main Duties
  • Support the Block Manager in the day-to-day management of residential developments.
  • Assist with site inspections to ensure properties are well-maintained and compliant with health and safety regulations.
  • Liaise with residents, contractors, and other stakeholders to help resolve queries and maintain high standards of service.
  • Help manage service charge budgets and assist in credit control processes.
  • Coordinate minor maintenance works, repairs, and essential services (e.g. cleaners, landscapers).
  • Maintain accurate property records, reports, and documentation.
  • Follow up with contractors to ensure work is carried out to satisfactory standards.
  • Assist in preparing for and attending residents’ meetings and AGMs.
  • Monitor compliance with lease obligations and escalate any issues appropriately.
  • Provide general administrative support, including sending notices and updates to residents.
About You
  • Ideally have experience in lettings, property administration, or another property-related role.
  • Keen to pursue a long-term career in block management and learn on the job.
  • Confident, organised, and able to manage multiple tasks in a busy environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A valid UK driving licence and access to a car is essential.
  • Happy to work full-time from the office (no home working offered).
  • Local to the Bournemouth/Poole/Christchurch area – knowledge of the region is a bonus.
