A healthcare organization in Greater London is looking for Assistant Ambulance Practitioners (Apprentices). This role offers a pathway to a Qualified Paramedic while allowing you to earn as you learn. The Assistant Ambulance Practitioner (AAP) apprenticeship is an entry level role that allows you to learn at your own pace whilst carving out a career pathway that could see you qualifying as a paramedic in just a few short years, not only giving you a unique insight into the role, but will avoid costly university fees and even better, earning as you learn.
As an AAP you will deliver emergency and urgent care to a wide range of patients. Where appropriate, you will assess and treat patients at the point of contact or refer them onto another healthcare provider in conjunction with other ambulance clinicians. When necessary you will convey them to treatment centres, hospitals and emergency departments, according to their needs.
To succeed in this role you will need to demonstrate your ability to work and communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds, handle stressful situations, be flexible in your approach and have basic computer skills. In addition you will be required to demonstrate in your application and at interview how you meet the Trust values and behaviours.
As an AAP apprentice you will undertake a 58 week Level 3 Ambulance Support Worker Apprenticeship Standard. This includes an initial 13 week training programme provided by our Clinical Education and Standards team based in Dockside (E16) or Brentford (TW8). This is then followed by a further 45 weeks of clinical practice, working on the road as part of an ambulance crew where, you will be supported by experienced clinicians and Tutors / Managers, whilst based at one of our ambulance stations across London.

Starting salary: £32,199 inclusive of Outer London High Cost Area Supplement (HCAS). Both of our Education Centres are based in Outer London. After training, salary will be £32,199 if posted Outer London, £33,094 if posted Inner London inclusive of HCAS.
