This is an exciting opportunity to complete an Accounts Level 3 AAT Apprenticeship. The successful candidate will develop their accounting knowledge in a fast‑growing business, recording, processing and reconciling petty cash accounts and more.
Wage
£15,704 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age.
Hours
40 hours per week, Monday‑Friday, shift pattern 09:00 – 17:30.

Work
Most of the apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job, gaining hands‑on experience.
What you’ll do at work
- Enter and reconcile petty cash receipts, contacting store managers for missing receipts and passing information to payroll/HR.
- Record, process and reconcile petty cash accounts.
- Liaise with staff to request receipts before generating and submitting deduction reports to payroll.
- Record and process monthly refunds and liaise with staff similarly.
- Assist the accounts team with monitoring daily store banking, including any variances and missed banking.
- Post cash banking entries onto accounting software and reconcile bank accounts monthly.
- Maintain accounts with energy suppliers, obtain and submit meter readings, review bills and handle queries.
- Complete daily administration duties, including scanning, filing, minute taking and date entry as per company policies and industry standards.
- Use 20% of working hours for off‑job studies, organising and managing them.

What you’ll learn
- Assist with investigating and responding to financial information queries.
- Record and analyse financial data using standard tools and processes.
- Apply double‑entry bookkeeping and accounting standards to process documents, generate statements and report information.
- Assist with the production of accurate financial information for account preparation.
- Reconcile financial data, including preparation and review of reconciliations.
- Investigate, resolve or escalate transactional queries and errors within remit.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders.
- Communicate financial information to non‑finance stakeholders in an understandable way.
- Use digital skills to present key financial information with finance and accounting software and applications.
- Use software packages for basic accounting tasks while meeting cyber and data security requirements, including secure data handling and backups.
- Communicate via varying media methods, appreciating the risks and benefits to the business of social media and digital applications.

- Blended on/off‑the‑job training; location to be confirmed.

Essential qualifications
- GCSE in English (grade 4 or above)
- GCSE in Maths (grade 4 or above)
Desirable qualifications
- GCSE in IT (grade 4 or above) – but other relevant qualifications and industry experience will be considered.
