Overview

RG Consultancy are delighted to be working with an established company based in Salford who are looking for an Assistant Accountant to join their finance team. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you'll play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, and assisting with month-end and year-end processes.

The Role

• Support in the preparation of monthly management accounts
• Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts
• Process accruals, prepayments, and journal entries
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting
• Bank reconciliations and cash flow monitoring
• Support the preparation of VAT returns and other statutory filings
• Liaise with internal departments and external auditors as required
• Help improve financial processes and internal controls

The Candidate

• Part-qualified (AAT, ACCA, CIMA or similar) or qualified by experience
• Strong Excel skills and familiarity with accounting software (e.g. Sage, Xero, or similar)
• Excellent attention to detail and time management
• Proactive attitude and willingness to learn
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal

• £32,000 - £36,000, depending on experience
