Qualifications

  • Qualified by experience or studying for ACCA, CIMA, or AAT.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role.

Job Description

In this role, as an Assistant Accountant you'll be a key part of the finance team, making sure everything runs smoothly and accurately. Your work will help shape important business decisions and keep things on track. Day-to-day, you'll:

  • Pull together weekly and monthly management accounts with clear KPIs
  • Spot trends and explain differences with variance analysis
  • Keep bank and cash reconciliations accurate and up to date
  • Handle payroll analysis and journals
  • Manage accruals and prepayments
  • Check balance sheets and dig into any variances
  • Support with budgets, forecasts, and year-end audits
  • Help strengthen financial controls through internal audit

What makes you successful in this role?

  • Qualified by experience or working towards ACCA, CIMA, or AAT
  • At least 3 years' experience in a similar role with strong management accounts knowledge
  • Excellent IT skills, especially MS Excel
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships across the business
