MacKenzie Kingare recruiting an Assistant Accountant on a 6-Month Fixed Term Contract , for an evolving business based in Ipswich. As an Assistant Accountant , you will be key in assisting the wider finance team with the production of monthly management accounts and reconciliations of control accounts in a timely manner and helping to maintain business as usual. You will be responsible for a wide range of reconciliations, assisting with monthly bank reporting, VAT returns, and sales and margin report analysis. In addition to this there will be other ad-hoc tasks including requests from other areas of the business.

Key tasks and responsibilities
  • Weekly sales posting and reporting
  • Weekly payroll costs, journals and analysis
  • Prepare quarterly VAT returns
  • Month end preparation of fixed assets, accruals, prepayments, accrued income, deferred income, intercompany movements, interest accruals
  • Analysis of key P&L items, including overheads and staff costs
  • Maintain monthly balance sheet reconciliations on work completed
  • Complete finance review of weekly expenses
