Job description

Sharp Consultancy are looking to recruit a dynamic and motivated Assistant Accountant to join a busy Finance Department in Harrogate. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and wants to grow their career in finance.

The role is available with an immediate start and will offer 3 months on a temporary contract before becoming permanent.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare full end-to-end monthly management accounts, including prepayments, accruals, journals, and cost analysis.
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Act as a finance business partner, liaising with other departments.
  • Attend internal stakeholder meetings.
  • Assist with budgets, forecasts, and internal reporting.
  • Support year-end audit and statutory reporting.
What We’re Looking For
  • AAT Level 3 qualified (or qualified by experience).
  • Strong month-end and management accounting experience.
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence in explaining financial data.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • A proactive, detail-oriented approach and a willingness to learn.
  • Experience with Sage X3 is an advantage, but full training will be provided.
