Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant for a permanent, full-time role with excellent career progression opportunities. The candidate will be responsible for managing reconciliations, supporting Accounts Payable, and ensuring compliance in financial reporting. AAT Level 3 or 4 is preferred, along with strong attention to detail and experience in multi-site financial systems.

Assistant Accountant – Permanent – Full–Time – up to 30,000

Astute Recruitment is proud to be partnering with a rapidly growing nationwide company seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to join their finance team. This is a permanent, full–time role with excellent opportunities for career progression.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain reconciliations, allocations, and balance sheet accounts
  • Support Accounts Payable, including accruals for operational expenses
  • Assist with transactional bookkeeping and daily accounting tasks
  • Work across multiple sites using Sage Intacct and company billing systems
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance in all financial reporting
  • Collaborate with other departments to support financial operations
  • Support growth initiatives, including integration of new acquisitions
Requirements
  • AAT Level 3 or 4 preferred
  • Proven experience in full–function accounts
  • Strong skills in reconciliations, allocations, and balance sheet management
  • Confident with Accounts Payable processes and accruals
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience with multi–site financial systems preferred
  • Proactive, reliable, and able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Long–term commitment and willingness to grow with the business
