Assembly Technician

Location: Runcorn

Hours: Monday-Thursday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM; Friday early finish at 12:30 PM

Pay: £12.21 per hour

Position Summary

This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful and quality‑driven business that takes pride in everything it does. Initially offered as a temporary role with the look to become permanent, the position involves assembling electrical and mechanical instruments to specification, ensuring compliance with quality standards and production schedules. The role also includes preparing and packing finished products, spare parts, and accessories for shipment, with final quality checks completed prior to dispatch.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble instruments and sub‑assemblies to defined quality standards.
  • Complete production and quality documentation in line with practices.
  • Conduct electrical, functional, and quality testing of assembled products.
  • Support the introduction and manufacture of new products.
  • Assist in training new assembly personnel.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work environment in accordance with standards.
  • Polish and pack finished instruments to required specifications.
  • Kit and pack spare parts following method sheets and kit lists.
  • Identify and report defects in machines, sub‑assemblies, or components.
  • Support supervisors with additional tasks.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Strong manual dexterity and ability to follow detailed drawings and written instructions.
  • Previous experience within an electrical or mechanical assembly role (or similar training/personal experience).
  • Methodical approach with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Flexible and adaptable to work across different assembly sections.
  • Effective communication skills in a team environment.
  • Experience working with procedures, method sheets, and kit lists is beneficial.
  • Basic understanding of electrical circuitry and mechanical aptitude is a plus.
