Art & Design Cover Supervisor

Secondary Alternative Provision - Blackburn

Full-Time | Long-Term Role

Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm

Pay: Dependent on skills and experience

Our education agency is currently recruiting for an Art & Design Cover Supervisor to work full-time in a Secondary Alternative Provision based in Blackburn. This is a long-term opportunity for the right candidate.

The role will involve supervising and delivering Art & Design lessons to secondary‑aged students. In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to support the delivery of Food Technology lessons. All Food Tech lessons are fully planned; however, you will be responsible for delivering the sessions.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise classes in the absence of the teacher
  • Deliver planned Art & Design and Food Technology lessons
  • Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment
  • Support students with additional needs in an alternative provision setting
  • Follow school policies and work collaboratively with on‑site staff
Qualifications
  • Experience working with secondary‑aged pupils
  • Confidence leading a classroom independently
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • Background or interest in Art & Design (Food Tech delivery experience desirable but not essential)
  • A calm, patient, and adaptable approach
