Job description
About the role

Are you an experienced trades professional or repairs manager who thrives on variety, responsibility and delivering a first-class service? We’re looking for an Area Repairs Supervisor to take a hands-on lead in delivering a high-quality, customer-focused and value-for-money repairs service across both occupied and vacant homes.

This is a dynamic role where no two days are the same. You’ll balance operational delivery with people management, inspections and problem-solving, ensuring repairs are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard. Working closely with colleagues across Homes & Communities and other teams, you’ll play a vital role in providing customers with a seamless, responsive repairs service they can rely on.

You’ll be part of the out-of-hours on-call rota and trusted to manage competing priorities, make sound decisions and keep services running smoothly.

What you’ll be doing
  • Supervising and delivering day-to-day responsive repairs and minor works
  • Carrying out inspections and surveys in both occupied and empty properties
  • Preparing schedules of work and managing planned maintenance and small improvement projects
  • Assessing disrepair claims and ensuring appropriate remedial action
  • Managing contractors and ensuring works meet quality, cost and health & safety standards
  • Carrying out health and safety inspections and ensuring compliance with legislation
  • Leading, motivating and developing a team of operatives, where applicable

You’ll bring strong technical knowledge, a recognised trade or professional qualification, and a solid understanding of building works and health & safety legislation. Just as importantly, you’ll be a confident communicator and a practical leader who takes pride in getting things right first time.
