Overview

We are looking for an Area Development Manager, responsible for driving business growth, operational efficiency, and client satisfaction across drainage and waste management services within a designated region. This role involves strategic business development, managing customer relationships, ensuring regulatory compliance, and leading service delivery improvements. A background in waste, drainage or construction is essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities
  • Business Development & Growth – Develop and implement area business plans to expand drainage and waste management services. Identify new business opportunities, partnerships, and contracts within the public and private sectors. Deliver sales targets, revenue growth, and profitability objectives. Act as the primary point of contact for key clients in the region. Ensure high service standards and quick resolution of customer issues. Manage service-level agreements (SLAs) and customer satisfaction metrics.
  • Operational Oversight – Oversee drainage and waste service operations, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards. Optimise resource allocation, scheduling, and logistics to maximize efficiency. Support the implementation of innovative technologies in waste collection, drainage maintenance, and recycling. Ensure full compliance with local, national, and industry regulations on drainage, waste handling, and disposal. Lead site audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations. Promote a culture of health, safety, and sustainability.
  • Team Leadership – Manage and develop area teams, including supervisors, engineers, and frontline service staff. Provide training, mentoring, and performance management. Foster a collaborative and results-driven culture.
