A local authority is seeking a motivated Mental Health Social Worker to join their Community Mental Health Team in Coventry. This role involves assessment, coordination, and arranging care for individuals facing mental health challenges. Applicants must be registered with Social Work England and possess excellent assessment and risk management skills. The position offers a hybrid work environment, with a focus on promoting independence and recovery among community members.
We are looking for a highly motivated professional to join our Community Mental Health Team based at Swanswell Point in Coventry. The team incorporates Community Mental Health Nurses, Approved Mental Health Professionals, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Support Workers, and Clerical Staff. As a Mental Health Social Worker you will be involved in assessing, coordinating, and arranging care for people living with mental health concerns, both in the community and in hospital. If you are an Approved Mental Health Professional, you will undertake assessments under the Mental Health Act as part of the city‑wide AMHP rota. The team supports people to co‑produce recovery plans to enable better lives and to remain as independent as possible. All supports are person‑centred, strength‑based and designed for people to have choice and control in their lives.
Work is flexible/hybrid. You will work in office based at least 2 days a week and in the community. The role is a part of the Coventry City Council community mental health service. Application details can be found on the Council’s jobs page labelled “Coventry City Council Application Process”.
