A multidisciplinary environmental consultancy in Cheltenham is offering an opportunity for an Apprentice Transport Planning Technician. The role focuses on developing designs for transport planning projects and gaining AutoCAD skills. The ideal candidate will be motivated to learn and grow in a challenging and rewarding environment. Opportunity for an Apprentice Transport Planning Technician (Level 3) to join our growing team in Cheltenham, GL50 3LH, in October/November 2025.
Transport planning helps develop the future shape of our towns and cities, considering how transport will link people with places. This includes encouraging sustainable modes of transport wherever possible to replace journeys by car. Working through the planning process and beyond, we communicate complex issues to the public, developers and politicians to help sustainable development happen. This is a BTEC Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship. On entry you will have at least 5 GCSEs at Grades 9 - 4 (A*-C) including English, Mathematics and Science or their equivalent. On successful completion of the apprenticeship and the end-point assessment, you will have satisfied the requirements for registration as an Engineering Technician (EngTech) and MCIHT. It is also mapped to the Transport Planning Society’s Professional Development requirements offering the opportunity to access a work-based route to a career as a professional transport planner. The typical duration is between 24 - 36 months and is delivered as a block release in person or blended learning programme, with a mandatory end-point assessment.
