Welcome to our nursery in Blyth Road, Bromley where a deep passion for education and the joy of learning takes centre stage. Our modern nursery is designed specifically for Early Years, nurturing each child's unique needs as they grow from little explorers to budding inventors.
Responsibilities
- Engage and interact meaningfully with every child, creating warm and nurturing relationships.
- Support daily routines and ensure the smooth operation of the room.
- Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and children, maintaining professionalism and respect.
- Use statutory and curriculum documents effectively, including safeguarding.
- Support the key person system, ensuring children's individual needs are met.
- Ensure the health, safety, and wellbeing of both children and employees, recognising risk and acting to protect in line with safeguarding policy.
- Apply legislation, policy and procedure to protect health, safety and wellbeing of children (food safety, diets, allergies, COSHH, accidents, injuries, emergencies).
- Apply risk assessment and risk management principles within documentation and practice.
- Teach children to manage risk and maintain safety for themselves and others.
- Use a range of communication methods, including technology, with other professionals to meet individual needs.
- Develop and maintain professional, collaborative relationships with others involved in children's education and care.
- Undertake key person responsibilities.
- Recognise and apply theories of attachment to develop effective relationships.
- Provide sensitive personal care for children from birth to 5 years.
- Advocate for all children's needs, including those requiring SEND or EAL support.
- Promote and facilitate children's interpersonal communication and social interactions.
- Support children to develop a positive sense of identity and culture.
- Support children to understand emotions and make considered choices about behaviours.
- Assess responsiveness of the environment for effective child‑centred experiences in line with curriculum requirements.
- Create inclusive, child‑centred, dynamic, innovative, and evolving physical environments indoors and outdoors.
- Create inclusive and supportive emotional environment that enables children to feel safe, respected and to experience wellbeing; prioritise the child's voice.
- Apply strategies supporting children's ability to manage change, transition and significant events.
- Analyse observation evidence to assess and plan holistic individual learning based on comprehensive understanding of child's needs and interests.
- Facilitate and support child‑centred opportunities based on the setting's curriculum and pedagogy.
- Provide adult‑led opportunities and experience based on curriculum and pedagogy.
- Use reflection to develop professionally and personally.
Qualifications & Training Requirements
- Working towards Level 3 Early Years Educator apprenticeship standard (includes Level 3 Diploma, Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid or Emergency, Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English or equivalent).
- Knowledge, skills and behaviours required: attention to detail, caring, communication skills, creativity, initiative, non‑judgemental, organisational skills, patience, team working.
- Relevant qualifications and industry experience are welcomed.

Benefits and Compensation
- Wage £16,096.60 to £26,031.72 per annum (depends on age).
- Hours: 5‑day, 41.25 hours per week with 4‑day options; exact shifts to be confirmed.
