Job Description:

Council is seeking two enthusiastic and committed individuals to undertake a four-year Engineering Apprenticeship. This role provides the opportunity to complete the MEM31119 Certificate III in Engineering – Composites Trade while gaining practical experience in Circular Economy operations working with the industry leaders.

As an apprentice engineer your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Enrol in and successfully complete all required training and assessments for the MEM31119 Certificate III in Engineering – Composites Trade. Progress through apprenticeship milestones within expected time-frames.
  • Support Circular Economy operations, including.
  • Green Ceramics production
  • Operation of relevant plant and equipment
  • Mattress shredding.
  • Warehouse operations.
  • Mechanical workshop activities·
  • Hot works, cold works and metal works·
  • Making safe damaged infrastructure and surfaces·
  • Repair of Council warehouse machinery and equipment if trained to do so.
  • Comply with the Work Health and Safety Act and all Council procedures.
  • Participate in all mandatory Council training, evaluations, and workplace learning activities.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and internal stakeholders.
About You:
  • A genuine interest in the circular economy and hands-on experience or aptitude for practical work in mechanical or workshop settings.
  • Completion of Year 10.
  • Knowledge and/or experience in mechanical workshop/ lab environments and/or boiler making.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact confidently and communicate clearly with people.
  • Demonstrated ability to set priorities and organise work effectively.
  • Ability to take direction and implement feedback on performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Strong focus on Work Health and Safety.
  • Class C Drivers Licence (provisional acceptable).
  • Genuine willingness to learn and develop new skills.
