We are recruiting an Apprentice Accounts Assistant into our Finance team, who will work closely with the Financial Controller responsible for transactional tasks such as managing invoices, processing payments, reconciling bank statements, assisting with financial reports and taking on other department and process improvement projects.

What you'll be doing as our Apprentice Accounts Assistant:
  • Manage and be responsible for the monthly supplier statement reconciliation, including chasing suppliers for statements and resolving reconciling differences.
  • Involvement with matching invoices to purchase orders in the iDocs system.
  • Manage and be responsible for the monthly company credit card reconciliation.
  • Responsible for the daily bank reconciliations.
  • Involvement with sales and debtor reporting.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts and statutory accounts
  • Assist the Finance team in various other ad hoc duties and projects
The Skills, Knowledge and Experience you will need as our Apprentice Accounts Assistant:

  • Willing and able to take ownership of the tasks assigned to them.
  • Have initiative to make changes or improvements to tasks or processes where they see them.
  • Good communication and organisation skills.
  • Reliable with a desire to take on more responsibilities.
Nice to have:
  • AAT Qualified/ part-qualified
  • Experience of manufacturing
Support we will give to our Apprentice Accounts Assistant:
  • You will complete AAT L2 or L3 through our chosen Apprenticeship provider.
  • Full training will be given upon joining for daily tasks and on the IT systems such as SAP and i-docs
  • Full support will be given by the finance team for on-the-job training and study support
  • With the projected growth profile of the company, it is anticipated that there will be opportunities to progress rapidly with Surface Transforms for the right candidate.

Hours:

Monday - Thursday 8am - 5pm, Friday 8am - 2.30pm

Salary:

£19,000 or NMW dependent on age
