Job summary

A health service organization in Bothwell is seeking a dedicated support specialist to assist with Digital systems maintenance. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, providing user support, and generating technical reports. The ideal candidate will have HND-level education or relevant experience in a technical support role, with proficiency in Microsoft tools and strong communication skills. Job description
The Role

To provide application support for key Digital based systems within NHS Lanarkshire. Predominantly, but not solely, covering the following services:

  • Microsoft 365 (M365) tenant/estate including all M365 business components used within the organisation both current and future including, but not limited to, key business office components such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, PowerPoint, and Visio
  • Collaboration tools components such as Teams and SharePoint
  • Wider cloud based components such as OneDrive and Azure cloud computing service
  • M365 related Clinical Diagnostic Service components
  • M365 related Patient Management Service components
  • M365 related Clinical Support Service components

The post holder will be responsible for assisting in the day‑to‑day maintenance of Digital systems, to troubleshoot technical problems and assist in providing technical reports in respect of system performance to the direct line manager of the team.

The post holder will provide advice and support to the users who use a service supported by Digital.

The post holder will provide a point of contact for Digital for service related matters.

What we'll need you to bring

The post holder will be educated to HND level or have significant experience in a technical support role within an information technology department and/or possess employment experience in a health service systems technologist role.

The post requires an individual who demonstrates a high level of technical and communication skills in all or most of the following areas.

  • Planning and Organising: Ability to manage workload, prioritise and assist in completion of routine and project workloads
  • Communication: Proven skills of empathy with staff; good communication and inter‑personal skills
  • Teamwork: Demonstrate ability to work effectively in a team with both technical and user colleagues
  • Full, valid UK/EU/EEA drivers licence (Please note for all vacancies where a driving licence is required this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence)
It would be great if you also have
  • Qualified in an IT related subject
  • Proven track record in the support of TCP/IP networks and MS Windows server operating systems; working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory
  • Detailed knowledge in the management and support techniques required to maintain Microsoft products that include operating systems and SQL Server as well as the MS Office suite of applications
  • Knowledge of applications used within Healthcare
  • Knowledge of project management methods and principles
  • Ability to work as a team player as well as on own initiative to achieve targets set by the IT Helpdesk or IT Management
