Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server in high-availability environments.
  • Familiarity with integration tools such as SAP NetWeaver, SSIS and IBM MQ.
  • Experience in release management, including promoting code and managing changes across environments.
  • Background in managing software incidents and problems via a Service Desk platform.
  • Strong understanding of application technologies, configuration, and scripting languages including VBScript, JavaScript, PowerShell and XML.

Responsibilities

The role

As an Application Support Analyst, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the smooth running, integrity and availability of our aviation applications. This is an opportunity to make a real difference supporting the digital systems that keep critical aircraft operations moving safely and efficiently.

Day-to-day, your expertise will help to protect people, assets and national security, while growing your career in a dynamic and purposeful environment.

  • Manage aviation applications across their full lifecycle, including maintenance, support and upgrades.
  • Oversee code releases and configuration changes across development, test, UAT and production environments.
  • Resolve incidents and service requests for both custom‑built and commercial off‑the‑shelf applications.
  • Work with internal and external support partners to maintain application performance and availability.
  • Provide out‑of‑hours support when required to ensure system continuity.

This role is full time OR part time, 37.5 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with days onsite and days working from home.

Essential experience
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server in high‑availability environments.
  • Familiarity with integration tools such as SAP NetWeaver, SSIS and IBM MQ.
  • Experience in release management, including promoting code and managing changes across environments.
  • Background in managing software incidents and problems via a Service Desk platform.
  • Strong understanding of application technologies, configuration, and scripting languages including VBScript, JavaScript, PowerShell and XML.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) and Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. No dual nationals can apply for this role.
