A healthcare provider in Greater London is seeking a Band 7 Aortic Dissection Advanced Nurse Practitioner to provide support for patients with complex care needs. This role involves working closely with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes and implement the National Aortic Dissection Toolkit. Candidates should be registered nurses with advanced qualifications and significant experience in nursing, especially within vascular care. There are 20,000 people living with aortic dissection in the UK. We are excited to announce that The Aortic Dissection Charitable Trust have awarded us funding to recruit a Band 7 Aortic Dissection Advanced Nurse Practitioner, 17.5 hours per week for an initial period of 3 years as a recognised Aortic Dissection Centre. During this 3‑year period the Trust will be working towards converting this to a permanent role.
The post holder will be in a unique position to be an integral part of the team providing lifelong, complex care for acute and chronic aortic dissection patients. This role emerged from the NHS’ need to care for a growing population of patients with this life‑threatening condition.
As first point of contact you will provide consistent support, manage patients requiring long‑term surveillance and help navigate patients through their complex care needs via face‑to‑face reviews, email contact or via telephone consultations / conversations.
You will be a pivotal member of the multi‑disciplinary team, shaping the service that is provided through collaboration, service co‑ordination, education, audit, research and patient support. You will work closely with The Aortic Dissection Charitable Trust and play a key role in the implementation of The NHS England Acute Aortic Dissection Toolkit.
You will be supported by the Lead Cardiothoracic Advanced Nurse Practitioner, the Consultant team and The Aortic Dissection Charitable Trust.
