Job description
Overview

A remarkable opportunity at East Surrey College to appoint a Lecturer with expertise in Animal Management to teach on level 1-3 in Animal Welfare & Management. The successful candidate will teach on the program starting in September and has an exclusive chance to contribute to establishing the suite and developing instructional materials from May to July (if applicable) to prepare for student arrival in September. You will contribute to the development of the new Animal Management course through the end of the academic year.

Responsibilities
  • Teach on level 1-3 Animal Welfare & Management as part of the program starting in September.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Learning and the team to share knowledge and support student achievement at a high level.
  • Provide pastoral support as a personal tutor, promote attendance, and assist students with work placements.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to planning, development, and review activities within the subject area.
Role details

This is a part-time role working 3 days a week, with working hours from 08:45 to 17:00.

Requirements
  • A Teaching qualification at level 3 or above.
  • A relevant degree or equivalent qualification in animal science, zoology, veterinary science, or a related field is desirable.
  • Experience working in the animal management industry or a similar educational setting.
  • Previous, relevant FE teaching experience.
  • Maths & English GCSE / Level 2 equivalent.
