Job summary

A leading healthcare trust in Swindon is seeking an experienced anaesthetist to provide anaesthetic services for elective and emergency care. The role requires a minimum of two years of anaesthetic experience, particularly in obstetrics. Responsibilities include assessing patients, delivering anaesthesia, and providing out of hours cover. The post holder will also support training for staff, ensuring high-quality care and adherence to Trust guidelines. This position offers a commitment to staff wellbeing and professional development.

Qualifications

  • At least two years of anaesthetic experience, ideally in the NHS.
  • Obstetric anaesthetic competencies are necessary.
  • The ability to cover the labour ward out of hours, without direct supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Provide anaesthetic services for elective and emergency care according to rota allocation.
  • Support training and educational activities within the trust.
  • Support audit, research and service development projects.
  • Assess patients before surgery and agree an anaesthetic plan.
  • Provide out of hours cover in CEPOD theatre or Labour Ward.
  • Ensure safe and effective prescribing following Trust guidelines.
  • Deliver training and education to all levels of staff.
