SEN Support Worker (SEMH - Outdoor & Alternative Provision)

Location: Taunton, Somerset

Contract: Full-time / Permanent

Pay: £14.66 per hour PAYE or £16.14 per hour Umbrella

About the Role
  • Support students with SEMH needs to engage in learning and build emotional resilience.
  • Deliver small‑group outdoor learning sessions, including gardening, horticulture, and Forest School activities.
  • Lead enterprise projects such as plant sales and crafts, helping students develop real‑world skills.
  • Assist with alternative education pathways and accredited learning (AQA Unit Award Scheme).
  • Use trauma‑informed strategies to promote positive behaviour and wellbeing.
What We're Looking For
  • Experience working with young people with SEMH needs.
  • Ability to lead engaging outdoor and alternative learning activities.
  • Strong communication skills and a calm, solution‑focused approach.
  • Understanding of relational and trauma‑informed practice.
  • Desirable: Forest School qualification, experience with UAS, First Aid training.
