Job description

As an Aircraft Technician, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You will be working at the heart of complex aviation operations where precision, expertise, and problem solving make a real difference to mission success.

Responsibilities
  • Perform aircraft engineering checks, movement, and maintenance to ensure operational readiness.
  • Carry out general duties as required, including:
  • Aircraft cleaning and housekeeping.
  • Flight‑line operations, such as preparation of aircraft for daily flying.
  • \"See-in\" and \"see-off\" procedures.
  • Fuel and oil replenishment.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as allocated by the Licenced Aircraft Engineer (LAE).

This role is full time, 40 hours per week, and is based on site at RAF Cranwell, Lincolnshire. Shift patterns and working hours may vary when deployed to meet operational requirements, which can include weekend work.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Strong ability to apply both practical skills and theoretical knowledge to meet required standards.
  • Valid driving licence.
  • Proven experience in aircraft engineering and maintenance.
  • Hands‑on experience in aircraft handling within a military or civilian EASA / CAA Part 145 environment.
  • Recognised Aircraft Apprenticeship, military background, or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent qualification).
  • Applicants who have completed most modules and are close to full qualification will also be considered.
Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain LAFT clearance, complete a Counter‑Terrorist Check (CTC), and hold an Enhanced DBS certification security clearance for this role.
