A reputable technical services provider based in East Hertfordshire is seeking a skilled Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Engineer. You'll service, maintain, and install refrigeration and air conditioning equipment, ensuring all work is performed safely and to high standards. The ideal candidate will have City & Guilds RACHP qualifications and strong interpersonal skills. This role offers opportunities to mentor junior staff and contribute to customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Must have a Level 2 or Level 3 City & Guilds RACHP qualification.
  • Strong knowledge of workplace health and safety, particularly regarding refrigeration.
  • Customer interaction is essential for delivering quality service.

Overview

Our client, a long-established and reputable business, is seeking a skilled Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Engineer to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in servicing, maintaining, and installing refrigeration, air conditioning, and associated equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Perform service work and repairs on a variety of refrigeration, air conditioning, and related equipment.
  • Install and commission both new and used refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
  • Conduct planned maintenance to ensure equipment runs efficiently and effectively.
  • Provide detailed feedback to the Branch or Service Manager regarding equipment condition, enabling proactive follow-up by the sales team.
  • Mentor and support the development of junior engineers and trainees.
  • Maintain high-quality standards in all work performed.
  • Accurately complete administrative tasks, including job cards, maintenance reports, timesheets, and other documentation.
  • Ensure all work is carried out safely, adhering to health and safety regulations and maintaining equipment in good condition.
  • Share feedback to help improve the company\'s Health, Safety, and Environmental systems.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Level 2 or Level 3 City & Guilds RACHP qualification.
  • F-Gas Category 1 (2079) certification (preferred but not essential).
  • Strong knowledge of workplace health and safety, particularly regarding refrigeration and HVAC industry risks.
  • Hands-on engineering experience, with the flexibility to travel to customer sites.
  • A customer-oriented mindset with excellent interpersonal skills, as you will often interact directly with clients.
  • Willingness to work additional hours, if necessary, to meet customer needs.
