About the Role

As an AI Programme Manager, you will firstly scope out and then oversee the delivery of complex AI and machine learning programmes, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard. You’ll work closely with various stakeholders to ensure alignment, clarity, and measurable outcomes. Your blend of programme leadership, technical fluency, and agile expertise will be key to enabling successful AI adoption across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Discovery & Stakeholder Engagement

• Conduct discovery phases to understand business needs, pain points, and opportunities for AI adoption.
• Engage with stakeholders across the organisation—including product, operations, data, engineering, and leadership—to identify where AI/ML solutions can deliver value.
• Assess current tools, workflows, and data readiness to inform prioritisation and solution design.
• Translate stakeholder insights into actionable recommendations and scoped AI tool or model requirements.
• Facilitate alignment on goals, success measures, and feasibility of proposed AI initiatives.

Programme Leadership

• Lead cross‑functional teams to deliver AI programme objectives on schedule and within budget.
• Develop and manage programme plans, budgets, and timelines across multiple related projects.
• Ensure data assets, models, and documentation are discoverable, reusable, and aligned to organisational standards.
• Track programme progress and performance metrics, identifying risks, issues, and dependencies early.
• Oversee resource allocation and utilisation across multiple workstreams.
• Ensure project outputs meet quality standards and contribute to wider programme goals.
• Support programme‑level risk management and mitigation activities.

Agile Delivery & Continuous Improvement

• Drive continuous improvement of AI development processes.
• Facilitate core Agile ceremonies such as standups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Remove impediments that hinder team progress and support efficient delivery.
• Shield delivery teams from external distractions to maintain focus and productivity.
• Coach team members in Agile principles and frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban, and Data‑Driven Scrum.
• Act as a servant leader, supporting the well‑being, growth, and onboarding of team members.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience managing and delivering AI programmes
• Hands‑on background or strong working knowledge in data analytics, data science, or AI engineering.
• Solid understanding of AI technologies, data processing, the AI lifecycle, SQL, and cloud‑based systems.
