Job summary

A leading UK financial services organisation is seeking an experienced AI/Data Architect to define the technical foundation for a multi-year AI transformation program launching in Q1 2026. The ideal candidate will own the architecture for the AI/Data platform, ensuring it is scalable and secure while aligning with regulatory expectations. Strong experience with Azure services and financial services background are essential. The role offers a contract for 6-12 months and is outside IR35.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in data architecture or related fields.
• Proven track record in designing enterprise data platforms.
• Familiarity with regulatory expectations in financial services.

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture for the AI/Data platform.

Skills

Strong Azure background (Fabric, Data Lake, ADF, Databricks a plus)

A major UK financial services organisation has secured funding for a multi-year AI transformation and modernisation programme launching in Q1 2026. This programme requires a skilled architect to define the technical foundation for AI, ML and data products across the business.

What you'll be doing

• Own the architecture for the AI/Data platform
• Design how Azure, Microsoft Fabric, Data Lake, ML tooling and governance all fit together
• Ensure scalable, secure, well-governed architecture aligned to regulatory expectations
• Define integration patterns with Legacy platforms and partner-delivered components
• Collaborate with delivery, engineering, MLOps and cloud security teams
• Provide architectural assurance across partner and internal workstreams

What you'll need

• Strong Azure background (Fabric, Data Lake, ADF, Databricks a plus)
• Deep experience designing enterprise data/AI platforms
• Understanding of AI governance, privacy, lineage and auditability
• Ability to bridge business, architectural and engineering needs
• Financial services experience required; pensions ideal
