Job description

This lovely family based in Hampstead, London, is seeking an After‑school Nanny to care for their toddler and school‑aged child. The role includes all general nanny duties, and a driver who can confidently operate an automatic car is essential. Based on their experience with previous nannies, the family has found that the ideal candidate is someone with a warm, kind, and caring nature, who is also diligent, responsible, and energetic. They particularly appreciate individuals who have a good sense of humour, possess strong English skills, and are intelligent and quick to learn. The family is not primarily focused on extensive experience; instead, they place greater importance on finding a nanny with the right personality and attributes that fit well within their home. A valid first‑aid qualification is required for this position.

Working hours: Monday to Friday 12:30 pm to 6:30 pm + 5 extra babysitting (additional hours in school holidays)

Responsibilities

• Pick the children up from school and transport them to and from after‑school activities, playdates, or appointments.
• Bathing and maintaining proper hygiene for the children.
• Ensuring the safety, well‑being, and development of the children at all times.
• Engage the children in interactive play, educational activities, and outdoor outings such as visits to the park.
• Put the children to bed and support evening routines.
• Encourage early literacy by reading books to the children.
• Provide homework assistance and support the children’s educational growth.
• Establish and maintain consistent daily routines to support the children’s structure and development.
• Keep the children's bedrooms and play areas clean, organised, and tidy.
• Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks tailored to the children’s needs.
• Empty the dishwasher.
• Wash the children’s bedding weekly.
• Iron school shirts and organise school uniforms.
