A local authority in England is seeking a Housing Enabling Officer to help deliver affordable housing projects. In this role, you will support policy development, respond to planning applications, and engage with tenants to ensure housing needs are met. Ideal candidates will have experience in housing or planning, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. This is a part-time fixed term post for up to 13 months to cover maternity leave but may end sooner if the post holder returns early.

The Housing Enabling Officer role will sit within the Strategic Housing team. The team oversees the development of the Council’s housing policies and strategies, enabling affordable housing delivery, delivering the Council’s tenant engagement service and the overseeing the Council’s preparation for regulatory inspection.
The role will act as the Council’s affordable housing enabler, responding to planning applications to ensuring that the right size, type and tenure of affordable homes are delivered in compliance with the Councils Local Plan and planning policies, and which also meet the needs of district residents.

We are looking for someone who has:
A full, clean and valid UK driving license and use of a motor vehicle for business use is required for this role.
