Job summary

A leading aerospace & defence organization in Yeovil is seeking a Buyer for a 12-month contract. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing supplier engagement and delivering high-quality purchasing support. Responsibilities include issuing RFQs, negotiating quotations, and overseeing POs while collaborating with internal teams. A background in procurement or supply chain, particularly in aerospace or engineering, is desirable. Competitive hourly rate offered with a hybrid working pattern.

Qualifications

• Experience in procurement or supply chain (Aerospace / Engineering desirable).
• Confident working with suppliers and cross‑functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Issue RFQs and manage supplier responses.
• Review and negotiate quotations.
• Raise and manage Purchase Orders (POs).
• Conduct supplier performance reviews.
• Manage invoices and resolve discrepancies.
• Support purchasing KPIs and operational performance targets.
• Verify accuracy of Purchase Requisitions (PRs) and POs.
