North House Surgery is a busy GP practice made up of close, supportive teams.
The nursing and clinical services department provides comprehensive, patient-focused care across a wide range of primary care services, including long-term condition management, minor illness clinics, immunisations, health promotion, and chronic disease monitoring.
The ANP is a senior clinical leader, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care, adherence to clinical governance standards, and compliance with NHS policies and professional guidelines.
The department collaborates closely with GPs, practice nurses, pharmacists, administrative staff, and external healthcare providers to coordinate patient care pathways, triage effectively, and improve clinical outcomes. The ANP contributes to service planning, audits, quality improvement initiatives, and workforce development, ensuring the practice meets both operational and strategic objectives.
The post holder will act as an autonomous practitioner working independently and in conjunction with other health care professionals to assess, diagnose and treat the conditions of patients attending within primary care, initiating direct referrals as appropriate.
The ANP will be a senior clinical role within the GP practice, providing autonomous, advanced care to patients presenting with acute and chronic conditions. The post holder is an independent prescriber and manages long-term conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, asthma, COPD, and cardiovascular disease.
The ANP undertakes triage, clinical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment, and delivers patient-centred care in line with professional and NHS standards.
They play a pivotal role in clinical leadership, service development, and quality improvement, providing mentorship to junior nursing staff and supporting the delivery of safe, effective, and efficient primary care services.
