Job description
Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and driven Advanced Clinical/Nurse Practitioner to join our established team. The ANP will work as part of the Surgical team, cross site between our emergency and elective hub, assessing, diagnosing and treating patients presenting to our emergency and ambulatory departments and continuing high quality care for our surgical inpatients. At our Elective Surgical Hub, you will use your assessment skills to provide clinical care to our post operative patients. Our innovative Elective Surgical Hub at our King George's site is one of eight pilot sites nationally to develop our current services and have already been granted £14m to expand our theatres, upgrade our staff facilities and double the number of recovery beds. Responsibilities
  • Assess, diagnose and treat patients presenting to our emergency and ambulatory departments as part of the emergency surgical team.
  • Provide ongoing high quality care for surgical inpatients.
  • At the Elective Surgical Hub, use assessment skills to provide clinical care to post operative patients.
  • Work as part of the Surgical team, using specialist knowledge and skills to provide healthcare independently to patients.
  • Be accountable for the management of patients on surgical wards and in the Surgical Assessment Unit.
  • Read and demonstrate how you meet the criteria in the person specification when completing the application and supporting information.
Qualifications and requirements
  • Advanced Clinical Practitioner / ANP or equivalent.
  • Ability to work cross site between emergency and elective hub and with the surgical team.
  • Experience in assessment and independent clinical decision making.
  • Probationary period applies for new staff.
