Job description

We are seeking an Advanced Mechanical Design Engineer in our Broomfield, CO Location.

All applicants for placement in safety-sensitive positions will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug test.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply mechanical design tools such as Onshape and Ansys to rapidly design and deliver cryogenic systems that meet the evolving needs of customers, ranging from prototypes to commercial products
  • Utilize Onshape and Arena PLM software tools to manage design releases and product documentation
  • Work hands on to build and validate your prototypes and deliver commercial systems
  • Work closely with a small, cross functional design team to rapidly conceptualize, validate and deliver high reliability cryogenics systems
  • Work within a fast-paced environment to turn concepts into prototype designs & iterate on these designs based on lab test results
YOU MUST HAVE
  • Bachelor’s degree minimum
  • Minimum 5+ years of mechanical design experience
  • Minimum 1+ years of experience performing thermal modeling and analysis
  • Due to Contractual requirements, must be a U.S. Person defined as, U.S. citizen permanent resident or green card holder, workers granted asylum or refugee status
  • Due to national security requirements imposed by the U.S. Government, candidates for this position must not be a People's Republic of China national or Russian national unless the candidate is also a U.S. citizen.
WE VALUE
  • Master’s degree in mechanical engineering
  • Broad understanding of thermodynamics and heat transfer principles, with practical experience applying this knowledge to real-world engineering challenges
  • Experience designing, building and operating cryogenic, vacuum and electro-mechanical systems
  • Experience with thermal and vibrational modeling and using this analysis to inform design decisions
  • Experience working hands on to build and validate your prototypes and system designs
  • Experience with mechanical inspection and working with suppliers on complex mechanical procurement and subcontracts
  • Experience with PLM/PDM to manage design releases and engineering change orders ensuring documentation compliance throughout the product development lifecycle.
Compensation & Benefits

$114,000 - $143,000 a year

Non-Incentive Eligible

The pay range for this role is $114,000 – $143,000 annually. Actual compensation within this range may vary based on the candidate’s skills, educational background, professional experience, and unique qualifications for the role.
