Responsibilities
- Manage parts of the parental enquiry and referral process in a proactive, professional and organised manner, supported by our expert Partnerships Managers and Family Liaison officers.
- Work quickly and efficiently to complete administrative tasks, demonstrating proficiency in using Microsoft products, databases and document control.
- Actively promote individual schools along with Witherslack Group aims and objectives.
- Liaise closely via telephone, email and face‑to‑face with parents/carers and referring authorities.
- Work closely with the Partnership Managers to ensure that the enquiries and referrals process runs smoothly.
- Coordinate school visits as part of the referral process.
- Demonstrate commercial awareness and understanding of the SEN sector.
- Maintain accurate internal IT systems and records at all times.
- Day‑to‑day, you will build relationships and serve as a vital link between parents and carers, young people, school staff and external professionals.
Qualifications & Skills
- A people person – caring, empathetic, and capable of translating Witherslack Group’s ambition to provide aspirational futures through inspirational education and care.
- Excellent communication skills, working directly with young people, their families, or external agencies in formal situations.
- Strong administrative skills and an understanding of the importance of keeping accurate records and working effectively in a team.
- Well‑rounded interpersonal skills to ensure an efficient but empathetic, caring and knowledgeable service.
- GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English and Maths, excellent IT skills, and some understanding of the regulations and legal aspects of SEND (or willingness to learn). Willingness to undertake relevant training is required.
- Have a passion for the education and care of children and young people with SEN.
- The ability to relate to a range of different audiences.
- A full driving licence, plus access to your own car is essential.
