A public health organization in Barnsley seeks an experienced personal assistant to provide administrative support to the Head of Department. Key responsibilities include managing diaries, facilitating communication between departments, and ensuring the smooth operation of the office. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and experience in a fast-paced environment. Working with the Head of Red Cells Immuno-haematology, you’ll make sure the group runs smoothly and effectively while acting as a key channel of communication between the senior manager and other colleagues within your directorate. By helping them make our wider strategies a success, you’ll also be playing your part in helping thousands of patients live better, fuller lives.
You’ll be managing diaries, organising and documenting meetings, making travel and accommodation arrangements and producing reports for meetings. Building strong working relationships with other departments and organisations will be crucial to your success. You’ll have a proactive style, excellent communication skills and focus on looking for opportunities to reduce or improve administration.
In this very important role, you will support the Head of Department to ensure the Head and Department functions efficiently. Your responsibilities will include:
On infrequent occasions you will be required to travel to other NHSBT and external sites, very occasionally requiring overnight stays. Appropriate notice will always be given.
