Administrative Assistant

You will undertake a range of administrative tasks in support of the delivery of a comprehensive, customer focused, business support service across Renfrewshire Council.

Key tasks
  • Supervision of staff.
  • Dealing with customer enquiries online and by telephone in line with Customer Care standards.
  • Preparation of correspondence, reports and data quality checking/quality assurance.
  • Maintaining a range of manual and computer based recording systems, ensuring that all records for which the post holder is responsible are accurate, up to date and stored in line with Council Policy.
  • Cash handling experience is desirable.
Essential experience and skills
  • Customer service experience.
  • Carrying out a wide range of administrative tasks and working with standard computer systems including Microsoft Office packages (Excel and Word).
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative.
  • Meeting deadlines and quality standards; multi‑tasking and having effective organisational and communication skills.
Desirable experience
  • Experience supervising staff and developing processes and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Renfrewshire Council's Corporate Policies and practices and Insurance Services.
  • SVQ Level 3 in Business Administration or equivalent.
