Salary: NJC 3 - £25,648 (FTE) / Actual Salary £15,369

Location: Glendinning Academy, Newton Abbot, TQ12 4HD

Vacancy Details

This is a Permanent, Part Time vacancy that will close in 24 days at 23:59 GMT.

Hours: 26 per week – Term Time Only

Expected Start Date: January 2026

Responsibilities

We are looking for an organised and proactive Admin Assistant to support the Principal and Senior Administrator. Duties include:

  • Preparing correspondence and reports
  • Managing filing and photocopying
  • Maintaining accurate pupil records
  • Assisting with data and reports
  • Acting as first point of contact for visitors and calls, liaising with staff, parents and external agencies
  • Handling mail and emails promptly

Requirements: strong organisational and communication skills, IT proficiency, ability to work accurately in a busy environment. Confidentiality and compliance with school policies are essential.

Qualifications & Safeguarding

Wave is dedicated to the safeguarding of children. Safer Recruitment Procedures will be followed. The position requires a satisfactory enhanced DBS check.

About The Academy

Glendinning Academy is a 120 place Special School for children aged 7 to 16 with social interaction and communication needs including those on the Autism Spectrum. The academy opened in 2019 and will have grown to 120 pupils and associated staff by Sep 2022.

Pupils have Education, Health and Care Plans with primary needs of Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) or Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN). Glendinning Academy provides a personalised supportive environment. Pupils have opportunities to use outdoor learning to access the National Curriculum, developing communication, interaction, social and emotional skills. Working in partnership with pupils, and their parents/carers the academy supports pupils academically and in their journey to independence. These partnerships play a vital role in ensuring pupils enjoy, succeed and achieve.
