Job overview

You’ll be responsible for day-to-day school activities including managing school trips, administering after school clubs, trips and school swimming. You will also oversee the reception facility one day per week; answering calls and dealing with face-to-face enquiries, signing in visitors and ensuring all visitors are appropriately monitored.

Job requirements
  • Minimum of a grade C in GCSE Maths and English
  • Previous experience of working in an office/admin environment, dealing with face to face or phone interactions
  • Experience in the use of Word and Excel in the workplace
  • Good working knowledge of ICT systems including word processing, spreadsheets and presentation software.
  • An understanding of primary education
  • Understanding of the importance of confidentiality and discretion
  • Understanding of Safeguarding
  • An understanding of the importance of working to deadlines, accuracy and confidentiality at all times.
  • The ability to establish professional relationships quickly and work co-operatively as a member of a team
  • A willingness to interact with the school community and a commitment to inclusion
  • The ability to manage workload and keep to deadlines
  • The ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, in a wide range of situations
  • Planning & organising skills including time management and prioritisation
  • Be adept at problem-solving, including being able to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner
  • Be dependable, able to follow instructions and respond to management directions.
  • Have a willingness to extend skills through appropriate training.
  • An understanding of the importance of confidentiality and the Data Protection Act 1998
