Job summary

A local authority in Scotland is seeking an Additional Support Needs Assistant to work with young pupils with additional support needs. You will assist teachers and support children in schools and other locations across the area. Experience with children and strong literacy, numeracy, and ICT skills are essential. This is a temporary position for 12 months, subject to funding.

As an Additional Support Needs Assistant, you will be committed to working with young people/pupils with Additional Support Needs and be deployed to support young people within schools and other establishments across Renfrewshire.

Responsibilities

Whilst responsible to the head teacher/head of establishment, you will work under the direction of and in partnership with nominated class teachers. It is essential that you have experience of working with and/or caring for Pre 5, Primary or Secondary age children, together with demonstrable literacy, numeracy skills and experience of ICT equipment and associated software packages.

Terms

Please note that this post is temporary, subject to business needs and funding for 12 months or until the requirement for the post ceases, whichever date is the earlier.
