Job summary

A local council in Scotland is seeking an Additional Support Needs Assistant to work with young people with diverse needs across schools in Renfrewshire. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children, strong literacy and numeracy skills, and an understanding of ICT tools. This is a temporary role subject to business needs and funding for 12 months.

Qualifications

• Experience working with and/or caring for children in educational settings.
• Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
• Familiarity with ICT tools and software.

As an Additional Support Needs Assistant, you will be committed to working with young people/pupils with Additional Support Needs and be deployed to support young people within schools and other establishments across Renfrewshire.

While responsible to the head teacher/head of establishment, you will work under the direction of and in partnership with nominated class teachers.

Responsibilities

• Support young people within schools and other establishments across Renfrewshire under the direction of class teachers.
• Work in partnership with nominated class teachers to deliver support to pupils with Additional Support Needs.

Qualifications and experience

• Experience of working with and/or caring for Pre 5, Primary or Secondary age children.
• Demonstrable literacy and numeracy skills and experience of ICT equipment and associated software packages.

Please note that this post is temporary, subject to business needs and funding for 12 months or until the requirement for the post ceases, whichever date is the earlier.
