The team is actively involved in dietetic student training placements and there is scope for the successful candidate to contribute significantly in this. There will also be opportunity to further develop supervisory skills through supporting our Dietetic Support Workers and Assistant Practitioners.

You will be part of a friendly, forward‑thinking and supportive team working in a fast‑paced, rewarding environment. High quality patient care is at the forefront of our decision making and we are enthusiastic about welcoming new ideas.

Main duties of the job

You will cover a variety of different acute inpatient wards including general medicine, surgery and care of the elderly as well as a weekly general outpatient clinic. The post will be based at the Princess Royal Hospital, with an expectation to work across both sites as required. Sound communication skills and commitment to work within our Trust values are essential.

  • The post holder will work in close co‑operation with colleagues within all care groups to deliver a cohesive service that is user‑led ensuring a consistently high standard of patient care, optimal flow and safe timely discharge.
  • To act as a source of dietetic advice and support within the Therapy Centre and across the Trust and wider health economy.
  • To have highly effective communication skills and demonstrate these on a continual basis with patients, carers, colleagues and the wider multi‑disciplinary team (MDT).
