Job summary

A leading actuarial firm in the UK is seeking a talented professional to develop and manage work in areas such as Actuarial Risk & Capital and Pricing. You will provide training and support to colleagues while liaising with internal customers to explain your area of expertise. The ideal candidate is a newly qualified actuary with a degree in a numerical subject and preferably some experience in the Life Insurance industry.

Qualifications

  • High level of knowledge in at least one actuarial area.
  • Newly qualified actuary.
  • Previous experience in the Life Insurance industry is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage work in specified actuarial areas.
  • Liaise and provide explanations to internal customers.

Job description

The purpose of this role is to develop, influence and manage work in one of the following areas; Actuarial Reporting, Pricing, Actuarial Risk & Capital, Claims, Actuarial Systems and Risk. To liaise with and act as a point of contact for the broader business and to provide explanation on area of expertise for internal customers around the company. To provide line management and training to others as required

  • Expected to develop and manage work in one of the following areas depending on business needs: Actuarial Risk & Capital , Pricing,Actuarial ReportingActuarial Systems, Claims, Risk
  • To have a high level of knowledge and be able to play a lead role in at least one of the areas above and actively develop knowledge in other areas as required
  • There may be a requirement to work in a wider Finance or Risk role, for example business planning
  • Newly qualified Actuary
  • Degree level education at grade 2:1 or above preferably in a numerical subject
  • Previous experience in the Life Insurance industry an advantage
  • Knowledge of actuarial life insurance systems and software an advantage
