Company: Everest Advisors (Uk), Ltd.

Job Category: Analytics

Job Description:

About Everest: Everest is a global leader in risk management, rooted in a rich, 50+ year heritage of enabling businesses to survive and thrive, and economies to function and flourish. We are underwriters of risk, growth, progress and opportunity. We are a global team focused on disciplined capital allocation and long-term value creation for all stakeholders, who care deeply about our impact on communities and the wider world.

About the Role:

As an Actuarial Analyst, you’ll play a vital role in the International Reinsurance Reserving team, helping to strengthen and evolve its foundations and capabilities. You’ll need strong actuarial, analytical, and communication skills, and you’ll collaborate with various functional areas including underwriting, finance, compliance, claims, pricing, and senior management. This position will be based in our London office with a hybrid schedule that has the option of working two days remotely each week.

Role & Responsibilities
  • You will support the UK P&C reinsurance reserving team by preparing detailed reserve adequacy studies.
  • Assist with quarterly closing tasks, including validating plan ELRs, performing actuarial versus expected analysis, and conducting roll-forward analysis.
  • Explore and develop new reserving approaches and methodologies.
  • Participate in group-wide projects aimed at improving reserving processes.
  • You’ll collaborate closely with Pricing Actuarial, Underwriting, Claims, and Financial Services.
  • You will work alongside the Head of International Reinsurance Reserving to ensure consistency and alignment with global reserving best practices.
  • Ensure timely delivery and clear communication of results.
Qualifications
  • You’re nearly a qualified Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (FIA) or hold an equivalent designation.
  • You have a bachelor’s degree or higher in Maths, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Business, or a related field.
  • You’ll bring P&C actuarial experience.
  • You have solid knowledge and experience in general insurance reserving, and ideally, reinsurance.
  • You have strong Excel skills — proficiency in Excel VBA, SQL, Python, or similar tools is a plus.
  • You’re familiar with ResQ, or eager to learn it.
  • You’re highly organised and pay close attention to detail.
  • You communicate clearly and effectively, both in writing and verbally.
  • You work well both independently and as part of a team.
  • You bring a flexible, enthusiastic approach to your work, with a strong appetite to network, learn, and grow.
  • You’re comfortable working in a dynamic, agile environment — including remote settings.
