Job description

A firm of Chartered Accountants in Bolton is looking to appoint an experienced general Accounts Senior (Practice accountant) into their team. The post would suit someone who is ambitious and either part qualified or qualified, with experience of working in a firm of modern accountants.

We are looking for an Accountant who their customers trust for being advisory, handholding, communicative, and can add value to their business with their accounting knowledgeable. Someone who they would want to have lunch with or a beer/coffee with to talk through their business. Someone who is a step ahead of them yet, can talk in their language. The role will also assist with reviewing work of junior staff members.

Salary is negotiable and dependent upon the experience that you bring. This is a progressive business that promotes and encourages career progression to grow with them as they open new local sites. The successful applicant will support the business partner and manager in providing a range of accountancy services to clients, this will include:

• Preparing financial statements for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders up to the audit threshold
• Preparation of basic personal and corporate tax computations and returns
• Review bookkeeping and management accounting services
• Filing Companies House and HM Revenue & Customs documents on client's behalf
• Ensuring that accounting records for clients are maintained and kept up to date
• Reviewing the completion of quarterly VAT returns
• Acting as a Client go-to person
• Supporting the Practice Partner in ad-hoc tasks
