Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Accounts Payable Clerk to join a friendly team working from our Central regions and based at our office in Solihull on a fixed-term contract for 12 months.

  • Timely and accurate processing of Subcontractor invoices, across Tilia Regions & Group Function;
  • Ensure accurate accounting for VAT, subcontractor tax & payments as appropriate;
  • Ensure that purchase orders, invoices and payments processing adhere to the respective control framework & approval protocols in place in Tilia Homes, at group and /or regional level;
  • Track subcontractor queries & complaints and drive resolution via the appropriate escalation routes within the relevant business functions (i.e. procurement, commercial, finance, etc.);
  • Manage internal & external subcontractor relationships for the given portfolio of activities;
  • Perform ongoing housekeeping activities to maintain clean ledgers at all time;
  • Ensure that all invoices are tax compliant according to Tilia Homes guidelines, at regional & group level;
  • Ensure timely processing of all activities to support the monthly/quarterly/annual close periods;
  • Actively support the sharing of new ideas and best practice across all areas;
  • Assist with internal and external audits to ensure complete, timely, and accurate responses to information requests;
  • Ensures regular supplier statement reconciliations are completed;
  • Support any other reasonable requests on ad hoc projects or tasks as agreed.

Working knowledge of construction and different types of materials would be advantageous;

Experience of CIS preferred;

COINS experience would be beneficial;

Excellent organisational and communication skills;

Accurate and confident in written and verbal communication skill;

Previous experience working within a shared service environment;

Ability to work effectively within a complex management matrix structure;

Practical knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint and flexibility to learn new IT systems & applications;

Must possess "soft skills": conflict resolution and negotiation, personal effectiveness, creative problem solving, strategic thinking, team building, and influencing skills;

Commitment and flexibility, poise, communication and teamwork skills;

Ability to gather extensive amounts of information and synthesize into concise reports and presentations;

Strong financial, IT and analytical skills with an operational focus;

Ability to analyse and interpret financial information;

Excellent interpersonal skills;

Ability to communicate at all levels with both financial and non-financial management.
