Accounts Assistant Vacancy - Middleton, North Manchester - Up to £29,000 plus profit share, BUPA, Team Member discount

This is a full time office based role, based in Middleton, North Manchester

We are seeking a detail orientated self‑motivated Assistant Accountant to join our Finance Team. The successful applicant will assist in accounting processes and ensure accurate record keeping. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within a finance role whilst studying alongside to gain both theoretical and practical knowledge. It is a great introduction into the production and analysing of management accounts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Payment analysis and reconciliation
  • Bank reconciliation support
  • Calculating and posting monthly provisions
  • Oversee Managed House weekly paperwork
  • Gift voucher reconciliations
  • Ownership of 6-12 Retail Operator P&Ls
    • Accruals and prepayments
    • Prepare and post all supporting journals
    • Preparation and production of the P&Ls
    • Monthly reviews with Area Managers and Directors
    • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Production of Pub Partner monthly reports
  • Attending area meetings
Required Skills/Qualifications:
  • Excellent communication, both oral and written
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • AAT or equivalent qualified
  • Relevant experience in an accounting environment
  • Professional but personable approach
  • Be able to work within a high‑pressure environment
  • Be able to devise solutions to issues as they ariseAbility to work on own initiative as well as part of a team
