Job summary

A city-centre hotel is seeking an Assistant Financial Controller to support the Finance Controller and manage various accounting tasks. The role requires at least 2 years of relevant experience, strong analytical skills, and proficiency in financial systems, including Sage. Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Support daily accounting operations across AP, AR and ledger management.
  • Process payments, post invoices and manage purchase orders.
  • Complete reconciliations including bank statements and petty cash.
  • Prepare weekly payroll data and update employee financial information.
  • Assist with stock control and inventory checks.
  • Contribute to monthly P&L preparation and weekly forecasting.
  • Analyse financial data and highlight variances or issues.
  • Coach and support junior team members.

Join a successful city-centre hotel as an Assistant Financial Controller, supporting the Finance Controller and small accounts team in delivering accurate, timely financial processes.

The Role
  • Support daily accounting operations across AP, AR and ledger management
  • Process payments, post invoices (Sage) and manage purchase orders
  • Complete reconciliations including bank, statements and petty cash
  • Prepare weekly payroll data and update employee financial information
  • Assist with stock control and inventory checks
  • Contribute to monthly P&L preparation and weekly forecasting
  • Analyse financial data and highlight variances or issues
  • Handle general office, cash-handling and administrative duties
  • Coach and support junior team members
