Responsibilities

  • Processing purchase invoices and reconciling supplier statements.
  • Dealing with supplier queries in a professional manner.
  • Supporting weekly and monthly payment runs.
  • Bank reconciliations and allocating payments.
  • Raising sales invoices and credit notes as required.
  • Chasing overdue accounts and maintaining credit control.
  • Working with Xero on a daily basis.
  • General accounts administration and ad hoc support.

Assistant Accountant / Accounts Assistant – Location: Preston – Hours: 37.5 per week (Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm) – Salary: Competitive + Study Support (AAT optional)

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Accountant to join a growing and ambitious business in Preston. Following a period of rapid expansion, the finance team is seeking an additional team member to support day-to-day operations and play a key role in ensuring the continued smooth operation of the accounts function.

This is an excellent role for someone who enjoys variety, thrives in a supportive team environment, and is keen to grow their career in finance.

Responsibilities
  • Processing purchase invoices and reconciling supplier statements
  • Dealing with supplier queries in a professional and timely manner
  • Supporting weekly and monthly payment runs
  • Bank reconciliations and allocating payments to customer accounts
  • Raising sales invoices and credit notes where required
  • Chasing overdue accounts and maintaining strong credit control
  • Working with Xero on a daily basis
  • General accounts administration and ad hoc support across the finance team
