About Us

COMMUN is a combined arts organisation with a focus on community building for emerging and mid-career Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour (BIPOC) voices.

Responsibilities

Maintain accurate financial records for our charitable entity, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations.

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the entity.

Monitor and analyse financial performance, identifying trends and areas for financial efficiency.

Ensure compliance with relevant charity accountancy standards and regulations.

Collaborate with internal teams to gather financial data and ensure accurate reporting.

Liaise with external auditors during annual audits.

Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decisions.

Manage any ad-hoc financial analysis or projects related to the charitable entity.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field.

Proven experience in charity accountancy, with a focus on financial management.

Proficiency in Xero and Microsoft Excel.

Strong understanding of charity accountancy principles, regulations, and financial reporting.

Excellent analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.

Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Additional Information

This is a remote position.

Regular communication and updates will be required with the charity’s finance team.
