Accountant

Location : hybrid

1 to 2 days working at our Head Office in Brinkworth, Chippenham, remainder at home.

Salary : £40,000 - £50,000 DOE

Hours : Full time

37.5 hours per week

Belectric UK have an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and experienced Accountant to join our finance team. Perfect for a proactive professional who enjoys working in a small, collaborative team where mutual support and versatility are part of the culture.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the firm, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of all financial reporting and controls.

As an organisation, we operate a hybrid working model, and the successful candidate will be required to attend our Swindon office at least one day a week.

What Youll Be Doing
Reporting
  • Own and manage all internal financial reporting processes
  • Prepare and distribute monthly accounts to both the parent company and UK leadership team
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of the Trial Balance
Controls
  • Support the Head of Finance with budget and forecast activities
  • Conduct regular reviews of internal controls to maintain compliance and mitigate risk
  • Manage cash flow to ensure liquidity and financial stability
  • Oversee credit control processes to optimise working capital
Tax & Audit
  • Oversee tax compliance, including VAT and corporation tax filings
  • Support the Head of Finance with the company’s first statutory audit (early 2026)
  • Maintain compliance with relevant accounting standards and statutory requirements
Innovation
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across finance systems
  • Review existing processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and compliance
  • Develop Power BI dashboards to improve financial visibility and support decision-making
What Were Looking For
Technical Expertise
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis)
  • A proactive, hands‑on approach, with exceptional attention to detail and a drive for continuous improvement
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain financial information clearly to non‑financial stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Demonstrates adaptability and resilience, with the ability to adjust quickly to shifting priorities, embrace change, and maintain focus under pressure
  • A professional qualification
  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA is highly advantageous
  • Experience with Power BI or other data visualisation tool is desirable
